What Does an Instrument Portfolio Mean?

An Instrument Portfolio is grouping of financial instruments. Think of a portfolio as a pie that is divided into pieces of varying sizes representing a variety of instruments to accomplish an appropriate risk-return portfolio allocation.

The purpose of the panel Instrument Portfolio is to help you create and manage portfolios as well as back-test their performance.

To open the create new Instrument Portfolio, select Tools > Instruments Portfolio.

How to Create a New Portfolio

After you have clicked on the Instruments Portfolio icon from the Tools Ribon the following window will display:
 

In order to start working with Portfolios, first you need to create one. Click the New Portfolio button. 
Double click on PORTFOLIO0 to change the name. To change portfolio you can use the drop-down menu .

How to Add Instruments to a Portfolio

1. Click on empty space to add the financial instrument that you would like to add to your portfolio. Or you can use the drop-down menu

2. Select Instrument form drop-down menu or click on Instrument Lookup icon and select there.

3. Edit the coefficient of the instrument in the Coefficent columnClick on coefficient to change it.

You can also delete an instrument by clicking on the Delete button.

When created, Instruments Portfolio will be available in the list of instruments and can work with it as well as with any other financial instrument. You can  add Instruments Portfolio to a Chart or create the trade in Order Entry or even Backtest whole portfolio.
