Grouping Entries

Table entries can be grouped by several columns when the column has the Allow grouping option set to True in the Columns Manager. The column by which you are grouping entries does not have to be visible.

To group entries by column, right-click in the table and select Group by > [column name]. For example, the following diagram shows a snapshot of the Watchlist panel, grouped by the Account column:

Each group can be collapsed by clicking the grey Grouping bar. When the group is collapsed, the Grouping bar displays column totals for the group. Clicking the grouping bar again expands the group.

You can set up further groupings by selecting the Then Group By option in the Group By menu.

To remove the grouping, right-click in the panel and select Group by > None.

Configuring the Status Bar

The status bar, located at the bottom of the screen, is a quick source of information you can configure by selecting whatever you want to display.

The status bar can display (from left to right):

  • Messages - normally, these are messages from your Broker that welcome you or inform you that the market is closed. Sometimes, they may be replaced by important announcements, so it is recommended to keep messages displayed.
  • News - the news ticker. Double-clicking a news headline displays the full text of the story in a Web Browser window.
  • Quotes - the quote ticker. Double-clicking a quote opens an instrument's chart.
  • Account Summary - shows up to three items from your Account Summary panel.
  • Connection Status - shows a green circle when you are connected to the server, and the number of messages (quotes, trading requests and responses, etc.) received and sent during the current session. When disconnected, the circle turns purple.
  • Date/Time - the current time or date or both date and time.

To select the items you want to display, right-click on the status bar and click on the item to put on the status bar. To configure the Account Summary display, additionally point to the Account Summary at the bottom of the menu and place checkmarks against the items you want. In a similar way you can also configure the Date/Time display.
