The Tester is the same as the Chart panel in  .NET Station. Use the .NET Station Manual for further information about common features of this panel.

The instrument shown on the chart is the instrument on which the script is tested.

To change the instrument, right-click and select Instruments > [desired instrument].

The indicator being tested is constructed on the chart directly.

To test the Trading System you can use:

  • History Testing - to test your Trading System on the whole of the chart data.
  • Range Testing - to test your Trading System over a specific time period.
  • Real Time Testing - to test your Trading System on real data in real time.

Warning: Real Time Testing will open real positions on your account, so it is bestto use a Demo Account for real-time testing.

The Strategy results panel includes information about results of the strategy concerned. The P/L field shows the final result of trading. The Summary profit and Summary loss fields are self-evident. The Absolute drawdown field is very important for margin call operations. The Total deals field shows the total number of all deals made using this strategy. Other fields include information about time property performance of the strategy.

When testing strategies, every trade operation is shown on the chart just like a position in .NET Station. Each position is marked by a symbol to show open and close position moments. To view details move the mouse over it.

Note: Chart controls are the same as in  .NET Station. For more details, see the Charts section in the  .NET Station help files.
