WHSelfinvest
Would be great if also non-US brokers could be added (eg WHSelfinvest).

colosistvan 19.08.2017I am second to Michael. The biggest issue is the complete lack of European (EU and Switzerland) broker connections. There are so many American made trading softwares and brokers, but what about the European retail traders...? We badly need Swiss, German, French, Dannish, Luxembourg and British broker connections because Euroeap brokers are ten times more regulated than Americans, the trader's funds are insured even in case of insolvency of broker and the latency to European brokers is three times better than with American brokers. For example, using any of the currently available broker with PTMC you ping is between 150-350ms (only Chicago based brokers are available), so that you trade 1/3 second behind American traders! What you see on your screen as market price is actually a past price... With European discount brokers we could trade with much higher probability of making profit and much less risk of loss.
Many of the strong European brokers maintain an extra low latency fiber optic connection with the American exchanges (via VPN), so that their latency is multiple times better than if you as a home retail trader do the same trades with US markets. -
colosistvan 19.08.2017To response particularly concerning WHSelfinvest, be aware that they are just an InteractiveBrokers IB (introduction broker), and InteractiveBrokers is not offering tick by tick data just a 1minute or one second (i do not remember) average snapshot price... its not good to put it on a polite way...

BeardPower 19.08.2017Hi,
So which broker(s) do you suggest and of which type (SpotFX, Futures) are you speaking?
Maybe it would be a good idea to make a public shared list so that anyone can provide suggestions?
Not every US/Non-European broker is using US data centers only, A high amount is using proxies and cross-connects located in the UK Equinix data centers. Using these, a latency of 1ms-25ms is achievable with a standard internet connection from your home. -

Hello,
I have tried the following brokers in these weeks OANDA (CA), DirectFX (AU), Dukascopy (CH), LMAX (UK) and now AMP (USA), but only LMAX and Dukascopy had 40-55ms pings to me in Budapest, others with their CQG feed had 145-350ms pings (based on actualy measurements by ping monitor. PTMC tray data shows approx half ping values). I am not a networking pro or so, but these below is the actual measured ping from my PC to AMP CQG demo:
I am not a networking pro or so, therefore my assumptions and conclusions may not be perfect on this topic, but I asked them all if they have a server in Europe, only DirectFX said that they do have one in London for execution (but the data feed still comes with 150ms< ping).
AMP told me that you can rent a co-location VPS trading server from them (limited number) in Chicago which offers 1ms latency to CME and you can connect to it by remote desktop... (of course you still cannot do on the fly scalp with 150-350ms ping when you control the mouse...).
Rithmic feed provider at least does have server in EU and you can select that one when you connect so I had 45ms ping with their feed (but it is not yet compatible with PTMC). Any of you guys who played an FPS game on an AMerican server knows that any ping above 50-60ms results a not "real time" experience. And that is just a game, not about money.
Just to name a few bigger one who I came across but there are many more in the EU:- CORNERTRADER (CH)
- SWISSQUOTE BANK (CH)
- SAXO BANK (DK)
- DUKASCOPY (CH)
- WHSELFINVEST (DE)

michael.roedter 22.08.2017Concerning WHSelfinvest - my understanding is that they use either CQG or patsystems for futures market data. Interactive is for stocks. I will check with them again
