ProTraderMC Workspace File
Hi,
I have a question about how ProTraderMC handles workspace files.
I create grid objects that float outside the application. I save this workspace to a known location. I then make a backup of this .wrk file in another location. I close one of the floating grid objects. I load the workspace to bring back the grid object. ProTraderMC doesn't bring it back. I close ProtraderMC and copy the backup .wrk file onto the .wrk file that ProTrader will be looking for. I start up ProTraderMC. Still, the grid object is missing.
Can you explain why that is so? Is there another place that ProTraderMC stores it's window information?
This can be very annoying as for instance:
1. You could have accidentally closed the grid window or windows.
2. You could have right clicked on the ProTraderMC icon on the taskbar and selected "Close all windows". Upon restart of the application, all your grid windows will be gone.
If ProTraderMC is automatically saving your workspace somewhere, is there a way to turn it off? At the least ProTraderMC should prompt you to save the workspace upon exit and not decide it for itself.
Regards.
Hello AminderG. Usually Protrader works with workspaces that contains panels and save information in wrk files. But detached panels aren't belongs to any workspace. You can switch, close, open workspace but detached windows stay on their place. So we save info about them in separate file in AppData folder:
C:\Users\[you user]\AppData\Roaming\ProtraderMC\detachedPanels.dat
