Downloading history data - Oanda

Hi, I'm sorry if the answer to this question is already somewhere aroudn here, but I couldn't find it.

I'm new to PTMC and I can't figure out how to download historical data to backtest on? I use Oanda.

Hello, Håkansson Magnus!

Thank you for your request.

To create a database, You should:

1. To click 'Database' => 'Create new database'.

2. To choose 'Vendor: OANDA'.

3. Enter 'Login/Password' and to choose 'Connection'.

4. And press 'Create'.

After you create the database, you should to select the instruments to download history.

To do this you should:

1. To click button "Add new symbols".

2. Choose instruments for download (for example AUD/CAD) and click 'Add'.

3. In the panel "Database creation" should choose 'Range' and options for loading (Quotes,1m bars, 1D bars).

4. In the end to click 'Create'.

After creating Database go to 'Database' => 'View database'.

In the end, You will have History for AUD/CAD (for example).

p.s. OANDA does not provide tick history.

I've done exactly this but I have no success downloading any daily bars from Oanda, all I can get it seems, is 20 days of 1min bars.

What am I doing wrong? I've set it to download 10 years, ticked all the boxes except tick data. For some reason it doesn't work?

Thank you for your feedback.

Perhaps the reason in multiconnect. OANDA does not support multiconnect.

When you use AlgoStudio, you should to close the PTMC client or use different accounts.

If this does not help you. Please send more information:

- screenshot with panel "Database creation" (instruments, range);

- account type (demo or real).
