Add price alerts from chart.
I would love the ability to add alerts for a particular stock directly from the chart.
Currently, it looks like the only way to add and manage alerts is by the "Table Alerts" screen in the watchlist. This requires you to manually enter all of the information manually.
Ideally one should be able to right click on the chart at a specific price level and select "Set Alert". A popup would appear where you could configure the alert in detail or just accept the default option that is something like "Alert me with a sound and popup when the stock hits X price".

Yeah, totally agree with this. Its to difficult right now to set an alert. Would be great to be able to just click on a chart at the price level you want to be alerted with the default settings you already filled in.
I would think most people just want to be alerted when the insteument hits that price.

- Agree with this. You've no idea looking at the chart if you have an alert set. The alert section is not user friendly at all.
- The ability to also set alerts for trendline breaks or indicator cross like eSignal would also be an excellent upgrade and something every trader would love and benefit from.

Since this feature request is important for all of us, PTMC team designs a new alert's engine solution, however a short period solution is available in codebase for traders which want a chart alert firing! Enjoy using it.

I'd like to add to this idea. I find that the current alert system is really solid due to allowing it to have conditional features but it does require a few extra clicks/keystrokes to get a simple alarm set.
Below is an example from M T. The minimal marker on the right side of the chart is also neat suggestion since a horizontal line would set an alarm level tangled with the technical analysis.
An option for repetition of the alarm sound/notification until the alarm has been acknowledged is an important feature of the alarm.
Building on this, someone in the feature request also mentioned the "new order" button (right-click menu) to be nested when having it unnested would provide a quicker solution. I think we're dealing with the same concept here.
Also in terms of the current robust, conditional alarm system, I think it would be amazing to expand on it to allow conditions involving indicators, as in ( if bid > line1(ema200) ) -> alert
Using the same concept to develop a conditional rule for Take Profits and Stop Loss levels would be immensely powerful for traders who are trading manually yet want a small degree of automation. An example as to how this would be used is:When price = Parabolic SAR then close trade:
This will allow dynamic profit taking and trail stops based on technical indicators.
